The plant is hairy with rhizome-like roots, ferny leaves and white flowers. Native to Europe and is grown in Belgium, Germany and Hungary. Has a long-stand history as a priced medicinal herb.

CHARACTERISTICS:
The root oil is colourless, or pale yellow, which turns yellowy-brown with age. It has an earthy, peppery, musky smell. Blends well with clary sage, patchouli, neroli, rose, rosewood and violet.

An annual herb that grows up 60cm tall, with hairless and branching stems. It has delicate feathery leaves and small, daisy-like flowers. Grows wild in Eastern Europe and West Asia. Related species are found in North America and Africa.

MAIN PROPERTIES: Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antispasmodic, carminative, bactericide, anti-allergenic, febrifuge, cicatrizant, cholagogue, stomachic, hepatic, sedative, digestive, vermifuge, sudorific.

CHARACTERISTICS: The oil is rich in Azulene. It is a viscous liquid, inky-bluish in colour and has a strong, sweet and warm-herbaceous smell. Blends well with marjoram, clary sage, bergamot, lavender, patchouli, lemon, geranium, rose, ylang-ylang and neroli.

Jasmine is probably native of Iran and is now well known and cultivated in Asia and Europe, where it was in the 16th century, mainly as a source of perfume. The shrub grows up to 9m, has pale greenish leaves and star-shaped white flowers.
